He was joined after World War II by Alex Fazackerley, having retired from the Army after the war, having served in India.

In 1982, ‘E Rowlands & Co.’ purchased the insurance broking practice of established Blackpool insurance broker, ‘Bernard Hames & Partners’ and the company then changed its trading name to ‘Rowlands and Hames’.
In 1988, Andrew Dalby and Bob Willis undertook a management buy-out from the Leeds based brokerage and formed ‘Rowlands and Hames Ltd.”
